Alun Cairns (South Wales West): What is the amount of sand, over the past 5 years, that has been taken out of the Bristol Channel from the Nash and Helwick Banks individually. (WAQ4025)

Following recent changes to Cabinet portfolios this question has been transferred for answer by the Assembly Secretary For Environment, Planning And Transport

Sue Essex: Figures provided by the Crown Estate for 1995 -1999 inclusive indicate that 3,097,650 tonnes have been removed from Nash Bank; and that during the same period 422,077 tonnes were extracted from the Helwick Bank.
